A relevant, challenging curriculum, the Primary Years Programme develops active, caring, lifelong learners, growing with particular regard for their world and its people, aspiring to be active participants in creating a better one. Programmes of excellence, continuity and support for seamless transitions throughout all stages of learning.
Our spacious Junior school campus is surrounded by Australian native gardens amid expansive grounds.
First introduced at the school in 2002 - the first school authorised to do so in NSW - the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) provides all learners with opportunities to excel, through engagement with a relevant, authentic and challenging curriculum. The IB PYP aims to develop ‘inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world, through inter-cultural understanding and respect’. The programme fosters learners who are ‘inquirers, thinkers, communicators, risk-takers, knowledgeable, principled, caring, open-minded, well-balanced and reflective’.
Learning spaces feature computers in all our air-conditioned classrooms and connectivity to our wireless network and learning management system: my.stpauls. We present exciting classroom learning expos, where the process toward conceptual understandings and the final products are both on display. Learning is enriched with Mandarin-Chinese language and specialist music lessons, physical education and myriad options for exploring potential in sports.
