Frequently Asked Questions
- How long before my child starts at the school do I need to apply? Hide
We suggest two years ahead. Some parents register their child(ren) ten years prior to enrolment.
- I’d like my child to change schools and come to St Paul’s now. Is it possible to start straight away? Hide
We will accept applications for immediate commencement as long as places are available. The availability of places is variable. Please contact the Registrar to determine availability.
- Does my child have to sit an entrance test to come to St Paul’s? Hide
All students entering Year 7 undertake testing as part of the scholarship application process. It is usual for students to undertake some testing at the school, but this has no bearing on enrolment. It provides the school with information that should benefit the child educationally.
- I already have a child at the school. Do I need to pay another $1000 deposit if further children are enrolled? Hide
The $1000 deposit covers all siblings regardless of how many there are. The $150 application fee is required for each child.
- Can I visit the school to see it in operation? Hide
Appointments can be made with the Registrar to visit the school during the school day or late in the afternoon. We also hold our annual Open Day on a Saturday in March.
- Does my child have to attend an enrolment interview? Hide
Each child enrolling in the school must attend an enrolment interview, accompanied by at least one parent or guardian.
- Will my child be able to attend an orientation day prior to attending St Paul’s? Hide
All children commencing at the beginning of the school year will attend an orientation day prior to commencement. Students coming at Year 7 will also have the opportunity to participate in an ‘Experience Year 7 Day’ where they will undertake lessons similar to Year 7 lessons. These days normally take place in Term 2 or Term 3 of Year 6.
- Does St Paul’s accept exchange students? Hide
Generally speaking, reciprocal short-term exchanges will be considered for a maximum of six weeks at the discretion of the principal. Any international exchanges for a longer period will require the student to be involved in some international exchange program. A request needs to be made to the principal by an external provider for this longer stay.
