St Paul’s is dedicated to providing a comprehensive Professional Development programme, designed annually to suit the current needs of staff. It encompasses areas such as best practice in education, Christian perspectives, welfare, technology, OH&S and compliance issues. Such training supports staff in their KLA, area of speciality or assists them in reaching their career aspirations. Such training is fully funded and offered both internally and by the IBO, often provided in overseas locations. New Staff are offered opportunities for mentoring to ensure a smooth transition into the school.
Opportunities at St Paul’s for the development of staff go beyond the training room with real life experiences offered including participation in Cultural Tours (Egypt and Europe), Language Tours (Noumea, Spain, China), service oriented trips (Tanzania), Tall Ship 3-day sailing experience, Duke of Edinburgh hikes (including hikes New Zealand) as well as teaching opportunities in our Sister Schools in China.
Staff are encouraged to develop their skills and utilise their gifts in areas they find rewarding. Such roles within St Paul’s are many and varied and include, but not limited to, Year Deans, House Patrons, leading in Co-curricular areas of Sport, Christian Fellowship, Debating, Chess and in the various Performing Arts activities and groups. Christian Fellowship groups are offered for both staff and students.
