The Arts at St Pauls

At St Paul's over the last twenty five years, the Visual & Performing Arts Faculty has rigorously explored the relationship between a biblical faith and the origins and expressions of goodness, truth, beauty, imagination and creativity through dance, drama, music and visual arts.

We are developing an arts scene that is linked to the wider society - to orchestras, ensembles and companies, and to theatres, galleries and exhibitions. We do this by pursuing creative strands grounded in Australian and world societies and cultures.

We are becoming a lively community of former and current students, artist-practitioners and teachers where roles are multiple and interchangeable. We ask each other: "How do we become the best ensemble, cast, or dance company?" rather than "Which individual is the best performer or artist?"

At St Paul's, life-changing opportunities are provided through working with outstanding visiting artists in all areas of the arts; being mentored by and working alongside the well qualified and talented St Paul's faculty members who have specialties in conducting, classical, music technology, jazz and contemporary music (including Christian worship music), contemporary choreography, indigenous and world theatre, film, new media and Christian imagery in contemporary art; and learning from former students who are now studying/working in orchestras, film and theatre, in composing, and in jazz, pop and rock bands.
