Little Saints - Pre Kindergarten

A 4- to 5-year old program that is more than just a pre-school. . .

Little Saints is a Pre-K, purpose-built facility in the grounds of St Paul's Grammar School where the needs of four-year-old children are catered for.

Our primary aim in this section of the school is to nurture children's awareness of their physical and social environment. The flexibility in the International Baccalaureate PYP for the early years allows teachers to support children's interests, build up their self-esteem and confidence, and respond to their own meaning, providing a framework for them to be active learners and inquirers.

Our focus at Little Saints allows for the children to explore, investigate and play, both in and out of doors. Children will experience learning Mandarin Chinese and benefit from a variety of incursions to the school. Spaces for reading (using the Ants in the Apple spelling programme), writing, construction, art, science and technology and imaginative play entwined within a Christian perspective stimulates the children, enabling them to be independent learners with global awareness.

Entwined with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the PYP and BOS Foundation Statements promotes the social construction of knowledge in the early years and, through many teaching and learning experiences, we strive to have many wonderful ways in which the children can engage in and explore themselves and their world.
